How Lovellfaye Incorporated Three Generations of Love into One Wedding Wardrobe

When Emily Palmer got engaged, she knew she wanted to honor the women in her life at her wedding. She and her family hired Designer Lovell of Lovellfaye to create three custom pieces for her wedding wardrobe that celebrate the special wedding days of her mother, grandmother, and her own.

60’s bridal fashion stands the test of time

Emily's grandparents got married in 1967. Her grandmother wanted to gift Emily a custom-made clutch out of her wedding dress for her wedding. The dress gracefully embodies 60s wedding fashion with simple lace placement on the bodice and skirt, an empire waist, long sleeves and a show-stopping veil. Lovell made the clutch out of the wedding dress base fabric and took one of the lace appliqués and sewed it on the clutch for a timeless touch.

Bows remains an iconic symbol of love and marriage

When Emily’s parents got married in 1995, her mother wore a Mori Lee dress featuring an iconic 90s bow on the back, a full skirt and extraordinary lace. Emily wanted to repurpose her mother’s heirloom gown to make a bespoke, on-trend rehearsal dinner dress that highlighted the bow. Lovell made a custom midi length dress out of the original fabric and preserved the originality of the bow. She only used the detachable train to make Emily’s dress, leaving the whole wedding gown intact for her sister to use when her time comes.

Modern trends take center stage

Emily got married in summer 2024 and Lovell designed her custom wedding dress as the final piece to her stunning wedding wardrobe. Emily wanted an elegant, versatile long-sleeve lace gown that could be two looks in one. Lovell designed an overlay top and used the same authentic French lace from it to make her a complementary custom veil. The edging on her veil was gorgeous with many beautiful details on it.

Emily’s wedding was a special, momentous day for her and her family, and Lovell was honored to contribute her expertise by designing three different pieces that celebrate three beautiful generations of love.
